Star Performance

Arjun excelled in his role as a cop, as beautiful as ever. Vijay Antony, who don’t over-express, had done a decent job in this film too. His face and physique fit the role well. Ashima is a good find and she has done her role interestingly well.

Analysis

Although there are a lot of murder mystery movies and whodunit genre movies shot frequently, this film is a bit impressive. Andrew Louis, who was impressed with the Japanese novel The Devotion Of Suspect X, had designed the screenplay interestingly. The audiences had been given a lot of clues to find out the murderer and the same had been followed by Karthikeyan. The film also has the traces of Kamal Haasan movie “ Papanasam,” yet it is different. The final fifteen minutes are impressive and the director had moved the story at the right pace without minimizing the movie watching interest. Similarly, the BGM is fantastic and Simon King gets an appreciation for that. Making a successful thriller is not as easy as one think.

What’s There?

  • The script, screenplay and the execution are fantastic
  • Natural acting of the stars is a big plus
  • BGM is eerie and gels well with the story

What’s Not There?

  • If there is no mistake, it is not a film at all. There are small mistakes here and there.

Verdict

Even though the story is good, the execution should be proper and the director should impress the audience by keeping them glued to the seats. Kolaigaran has done it and it is a sure hit for Vijay Antony, after a long.
