Plot
The story of the movie revolves around a boy named Paari. He lives in a small village. However, his village and the neighborhood village fight over the water from a pond. The prior was not allowing the water to go into another town. When Paari was small, he lost his father in this conflict. His father tried to stop the war, but he died tragically. After this, Paari moves to Singapore to complete his education, years later he returned to the village excepting that the conflict might have resolved. But the fight was still going on. Meanwhile, Paari loved a girl named Thamarai. She was the daughter of a wealthy landlord in the village. Her father owned the pond and refused to share the water with other villages. However, Paari tried a lot to impress Thamarai. But all in vain. One day at a fair, Paari helped her in a bike race. She won and received a new smartphone. That day onwards, both of them started falling in love with each other.
In the village, the people were complaining about the polluted water. But Lal who is Thamarai‘s father, he refused to corporate with rest of the people. He also found out about Thamarai’s relationship too and tried to put an end to it. Meanwhile, the villagers decided to attack on the other village, but Paari convinced them and talked them out. He convinced them to share water but Lal was not ready for it. The villagers asked him to let Paari and Thamarai marry. He allowed them to marry however, they didn’t wanted to marry anymore as they wanted to solve drinking water’s issue first. Paari found a trick to enable water to pass into another village without letting Lal lknow about it. Afterwards, Paari and Thamarai got married.
Star performance
The main character of the story is Paari. Atharvaa played his role in the movie. Throughout the film, his acting skills were amazing. He portrayed Paari as the protagonist in the film by neatly balancing him emotions in intense and emotional scenes. He delivered a nuanced performance.
Anandhi plays the character of Thamarai. She has delivered an impressive performance in the film. Her presence made the story interesting and authentic. The chemistry between Anandhi and Atharvaa in the movie was fantastic. Lal, Bose Venkat, Rajashree and Sharmi La are the supporting cast. They have delivered good performance in the film.
Analysis
Chandi Veeran is a watchable movie. The film’s script is about a couple, Thamarai and Paari. Despite being a love story, the film also reflects on the social issues related to water faced by villagers. The concept of filmmakers is fantastic. The storyline of the film was exciting and unique. The movie is not just a regular Tamil love story but it has a compelling story that comments on the societal issues. The ending of the film is beautiful as the lovers get married. But the plot of the film was predictable. The execution of the script is elegant. The direction is also excellent.
The storyline is simple and basic to visualize and it delivers its message as it should. The chemistry between main actors is fantastic specially, Thamarai and Paari. The other characters in the movie are developed as well. The film has an authentic and natural cinematography. The soundtracks of the movie are enjoyable too.
