Both the hero and the heroine have played their part well, as directed by the director. Sampath has done justice to the role given to him.
Rattan Ganapathy, the debutant director has chosen a regular rural romantic and sentimental entertainer. There is nothing new in the film, except the star cast.

What’s Not There?
The same old story that has been recycled in Tamil cinema for decades No known faces in the film is the biggest drawback
Viruthachalam might be a debut attempt by the director and the lead actors, but it is not a new film for the audiences. The film is full of violence that would not impress the family audiences. If you have no films to watch this weekend, you could try this movie!
