A business person, Pranav and a local goon, Price, are in love with the same girl and try to woo her, putting their best efforts at work.

Plot: Jiya (Amaya Paul) is a wealthy girl who is a car enthusiast and absolutely loves cars. As the story develops, Jiya meets with an accident while living her dream of cars. The accident causes her to lose her memory, and she does not remember what exactly happened to her. Her parents and fiancé too do not have a single clue as to what led Jiya into such a situation. The story takes a turn when a character named “P” is introduced who is supposedly Jiya’s love interest. The real confusion begins when two people Pawan (Boban) and Prince (Jayasurya) come forward to claim the title of “P” and to win Jiya’s love.

The movie is meant to be enjoyed and is perfect for tickling the funny bones in a most interesting manner. The script is weak and so is the direction.

The entire burden of the film is on the constant jokes that are relied upon for the movie’s rating at the box office. The theme of the actress losing her memory is downright common, and the predictability scale is high. The narration is dull, and the audience will find the first half to be quite boring. In the festive season with lots of new movies doing the round, this one is not fulfilling the expectations.

Star Performances: The lead pair of Kunchacko Boban and Jayasurya, weave magic with their perfectly timed humor and great performance in the comic roles. Despite a weak script, both actors deliver brilliant performances that are sure to entertain the audience.

Amala Paul Amala Paul is the super talented star of South Ind >> Read More... has the part of the modern day independent woman who does not depend on her male counterpart. For a female- centric movie, her performance was a little weak even though there was lots of scope. Her Malayalam is a bit weak, and she might have to work on it. Overall, she delivered an average performance. What’s There: The comedy quotient is quite high, and the people will definitely laugh their heads off at certain points. The lead pair is most loved amongst the audience, and they make the movie worth a watch.

What’s Not There: The story is quite predictable, and the script is not well framed. The direction is weak. The jokes are good but at certain points in the movie, it is more of a senseless banter of jokes that are not as funny as was expected.

Verdict: ‘Shahjahanum Pareekuttiyam’ is a one- time watch for the purpose of generating instant laughter among the audience. It is a perfect family entertainer and funny on the whole. If the Malayalam audience wants a hearty laugh and some instant comic relief on the go, they should go for the movie.
