Crime Thrillers Regaining Popularity In Mollywood?

Since the past few years, every region of Indian cinema is attracted towards a distinct genre.

While Tollywood is falling head over heels for larger than life action dramas, Bollywood is being attracted to patriotic dramas and horror comedies. Likewise, crime thrillers, which were once the identity of Mollywood, are now regaining their position, with the most successful Malayalam movies of 2025 coming only from this genre.
