Plot

Circle Inspector Sajan Philip was assigned the difficult task of capturing the suspects after a jewelry store robbery in the Idukki district. With the initials leads, the police team discovers that all suspects are from a village in northern India. The police arrive in the suburb with a five-person team, led by Philip, but it is hard to lure the criminals from their hiding place.

Star Performance

Asif Ali gave one of his most restrained performances as Officer Sajan Philip, and he beautifully portrays the character with internalized trauma. Alencier (as S.I. Basheer), who frequently plays loud characters in movies, was excellent as a very experienced police officer.

Analysis

The inspiration for the movie is from a 2015 jewelry heist that took place in Kasaragod. The film avoids discussing existential issues or the flaws in the law and order system. The story is told entirely from the policeman's perspective and rarely holds your attention. Although the script mentions CI Sajan's troubled past and recurring nightmares, these subjects are not fully covered. Rajeev Ravi is revealing a side of the police that are not talked about in real life or in movies by integrating these personal struggles of the police officers into an investigation. The story concluded swiftly without providing them with a resolution to the case. A lot of suspense created never materializes into a big blow as you expect it to be, but the pleasures provided by the wait seem sufficient.

What’s There?

What’s Not There?

  • The story has no conclusion, leaving the audience hanging.
  • There are no satisfactory explanations for many plots or storylines.

Verdict

It is a suspenseful movie that successfully uses the conventions of a crime drama with a hint of horror.
