A team of police had been sent to the Maoist area for election duty. Manikandan, the honest SI had been appointed to do the election duty in Basthar, an area where Maoist dominate. These cops are provided with Lathis and guns, which they hadn’t used it much. Will those cops manage the Maoist group and successfully complete their election mission? Watch the film in theaters!
Mammootty fits in the role well. His character is straightforward and he has played a normal cop, unlike a larger than life hero in some of his recent films.
The story is simple and the director hadn’t projected it as a commercial subject. Khalid Rahman, who provided a natural script in Anuraga Karikkin Vellam, has come with yet another right subject. The characterization is fantastic and he hadn’t done anything special for Mammootty, to project him as a superhero and this is the greatest plus to the subject. The film shows how the police department works and the tough situations they face. The stars fit the roles well and that is one among the biggest pluses to the film. Like the casting department, the cinematography and the music excel. The visuals are classic and the BGM gels well with the script.
What’s Not There?
Unda is a good film that not only attracts Mammootty fans but the general audiences for its script, performance and execution. Watch the film with family and you will like it definitely!
