Asif Ali Defends ‘Empuraan’

Actor Asif Ali has come out in the support of the makers of ‘L2 : Empuraan’.

The actor recently issued a statement about the need to protect the freedom of speech, and how cinema should be viewed only as a medium of entertainment and nothing else. According to Asif Ali, those who lack the courage to express their opinion resort to harassment and bullying.

Following severe criticism by the audience around the one sided take on several political issues, the makers announced more than 17 cuts in the movie altogether.

This isn’t the first time that Prithviraj Sukumaran has been associated with a major controversy around his movie.
