Plot
This film is about Mahesh and his car (Maruti 800), which he inherited from his father. The story talks about his emotional attachment to the car and how things change when his childhood crush comes to meet him.
Star Performance
Asif plays his character well and portrays all the emotions beautifully. He connects with the audience. Mamta has also played her character beautifully. She shares good chemistry with Asif Ali on screen.
Analysis
The film starts with Mahesh narrating his life story to a TV show host. He recalls how his father was one of the first owners of the Maruti 800 car, which he had received from Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. After his father's death, Mahesh becomes emotionally attached to the car and refuses to sell it despite financial troubles. He also developed a passion for repairing cars and dreams of becoming a successful businessman someday. In the later part, Mahesh meets Gauri (Mamta). She is a journalist and is impressed by Mahesh's love for his car and decides to write an article about him. She also helps him get an opportunity to participate in a rally race with his car.
The film depicts the emotions, charm, and simplicity of the 80s era with Maruti 800, music, costumes, and dialogues. The film also covers the themes of friendship, family, love, and dreams through its characters.
