Plot
The film is about a young divorcee, Praful Patel, who resides in her parents’ home. She works in cleaning at an elite five-star hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Praful has a problematic relationship with her father. Who instead of providing her with the supporting back, commonly throws the burden of responsibility for her past offenses on her. As an outcome, Praful wants to move out and obtain a residence of her own. Her loan request for financial support gets pre-approved soon after she submits it. Meanwhile, Praful decides to travel to

with her cousin. Her cousin understanding her situation offers to bear every penny of her lodging and airfare. In Los Vegas, she drew her attention to the casino for the first time. As she wins the first round, she gets even more excited and interested in the game and addicted to it. When she returns to the casino on the subsequent day, she blows off a considerable amount of her savings account. Later, at the casino when she was offered an amount of $32,000 from a moneylender, not being in her senses she accepted the loan while she was fully drunk. That day she gets back without a single penny on her as she has lost all $32,000 and a considerable chunk of her savings. The rest of the story revolves around her efforts to escape the loan trap.
Star Performance
Kangana Ranaut’s astounding performance has made the film more realistic and relatable. The character placement by the filmmakers is undoubtedly startling which fits in the storyline seamlessly. Overall, the direction and cinematics are easy to go, effortless and clean to watch.
Analysis
The film “Simran” is about the psychological struggles of a woman. A character who has a dominant, adventure-seeking and risk-taking trait. Storytelling of the film is marvellous, straightforward, some may also find it too simple for a Bollywood movie. But above all it conveys a rightful and valuable message appropriate for today’s society which we live in. The movie in real sense shows what urban poverty looks like and it can happen to anybody. The ending is definitely not a happy one unlike almost all Bollywood movies rather the filmmakers choose the story to stay practical and sensible. The lead character can make the viewers laugh and cry at the same time. The entire team has done an excellent job giving realistic approach to different situations. That one message you can draw from the film is “live life your way and face the consequences of your decisions without regret.”

The film is a must watch as it is not loaded with any unrealistic action or irrational characters, instead the film posses a conventional approach to form the plot, which makes the audience relate to themselves. But it may upset views who always crave for a perfect ending.
