He has been a gem who is active for more than ten years in the Hindi Film Industry. Since 2018, he is an exclusively signed artist of the Sony Music Label Company. He was born on the 3rd of August in Madhya Pradesh in India. He also has an elder brother with whom he has spent his childhood in the towns of Rewa and Singrauli.

As a nineties kid, he has been interested in writing and listening to music for a very long time. He did his schooling at Jyoti Higher Secondary School in Rewa, then did his under-graduation studies at Wigan and Leigh College in Indore, both located in Madhya Pradesh. He studied Graphic Designing over there. For his post-graduation program, he approached Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication in Pune, where he did a Masters in mass communication.

It was then when he had started writing a lot and working as a freelancer from 2009 onwards. He first worked in advertising and commercial firms by writing for different mediums like T. V. and print. Tanu Weds Manu Returns, released in 2015, he proclaimed himself as both a quirky and a hit lyricist, making his name an easy feat to find in the industry.

Initially, he started in Bollywood with Tanishk Bagchi. However, the two have now gone on a separate solo way, rarely collaborating on a music track or two. Vayu has worked in more than 30 films till now, sometimes handling the entire music department, and sometimes as a lyricist. He was also nominated for the Mirchi Music Awards in 2015 for the song Banno in the movie Tanu Weds Manu Returns as the Upcoming Lyricist and the Upcoming Music Composer of The Year.

He says that his style of work is to channelize people's everyday emotions, notions, and experiences into an impactful song. He believes songs should speak for themselves, which means they should be as authentic as possible. Presently he has released some self-made albums with the collaboration of big music label companies. Baatein Karo, Mummy, and Khareed Lo are some of the recent best tracks he released.
