Plot

The story begins in the city of Buckingham, England. Where a government detective Jass Bhamra, who is extremely sad because her ten-year-old son has been shot dead by a mentally ill man. Actually, the man was shooting someone else but it accidentally hits Jass’s son and he immediately dies. The man who shot him was a complete psycho; he has confessed this in the court as well. The court also sentenced the killer but, Jass is completely broken by this incident and now she has not been able to do anything anywhere. It doesn’t feel good and now she transfers to another city without informing her father, because she did not want to live in this city. Immediately after her transfer Jass reaches her new office where she meets some people and then later, she mees her boss. In the very first meeting, the boss hands over a case to Jass. The case concerns Preet Kohli, the son of transporter Daljeet Kohli, and Preeti, who has gone missing. Jass agrees to take the case and the rest of the film revolves around how she deals with the case.

Star Performance

The chosen cast is really appreciable, especially Kareena’s role is different in this movie. Not only her, all the other actors have also undoubtedly done an excellent job. A better soundtrack and background score could have made the story even better.

Analysis

The film is on an indian single mother who has recently lost his son killed by an psycho, has been appointed to an another case of a missing boy belonged to Sikh religion. The suspense and thrill element are also mixed with a lot of social and human issues which gives the movie a lot of gravity. Despite some pacing issues and a slight lag in direction, "The Buckingham Murders" is a solid crime thriller with a surprising finish and stellar performances from the lead cast. However, it might not be everyone's cup of tea, especially for those expecting masala, song, dance and so-called Bollywood thing.

What’s There?

  • The film tightens the viewers with the thrill.

What’s Not There?

  • The film could have been worth releasing in theatres with a little more effort.

Verdict

It’s a good crime thriller to watch, engaging, looks rich, intense, not so many twist and turns but whatever is there is good.
