It’s now or never for Bollywood!
According to the recent reports, with its small but consistent jackpots, Bollywood has taken the driver’s seat in terms of delivering the most successes for Indian cinema after years.
However, if Bollywood wants to ensure that it ends 2024 on a promising note, they need to ensure that almost all of their major releases in November and December earn nothing less than 100 crores on the domestic front at least.
This is because September and October have been rather forgettable for Bollywood. Had it not been for ‘Stree 2’, and to some extent re-releases like ‘Tumbbad’ the performance of Bollywood was far from satisfactory.
Even the Vijayadashami releases, i.e. ‘Jigra’ and ‘Vicky Vidya ka Woh Wala Video’ didn’t manage to impress the audiences. While ‘Vicky Vidya ka Woh Wala Video’ still managed to recover their basic budget with an overall collection of 37.49 crores, ‘Jigra’ is struggling to even go beyond 30 crores in domestic collections.
That leaves Bollywood with only two months to make it or break it, i.e. November and December. Interestingly, some of the major releases are scheduled for this month, like the Deepavali clash between Ajay Devgn’s ‘Singham Again’ and Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’.
