Plot
After her husband passed away in the Sudan blast, Bridget Jones became a single mother to Billy and Mabel. After her friends’ constant inquiries about her love life, she decided to make her tight and hence picked a TV producer job. She moves closer to Roxer, who saved her kids from a small accident. She also shares a bond with her kids’ teacher Wallakar. All of a sudden, Roxer ends his communication with her without even informing her about the reason for quitting. Was he aware of her bonding with Wallakar? Why did he quit? The rest of the film showcases the life of Jones after Roxer’s vanishing.
Star Performance
Renée Zellweger tried to do justice to the role. However, it doesn’t match with her previous performance. Leo and Renee’s chemistry is not impressive. It misses some depth. Ejiofor stepped in the shoes of Mr. Wallakar and did the role perfectly. Hugh Grant performed well with enough humour. Emma Thompson got limited screen space, yet she is impressive in her role as Rawlings.
Analysis
The makers might have decided to attract the latest generation, and hence, this instalment seems to have a different storyline. Most of the characters lack depth, and this may be the reason that their performances didn’t get highlighted. Though there are a few scenes that impress us, it didn’t match the cult classic it provided in its previous instalments.

Verdict
If you expect the same experience that Bridget Jones’ previous instalments provided, you’ll be disappointed. If you love watching Gen Z movies, you may love this!
