Yashpal Sharma was born in Hisar city in Haryana state on 9th August 1970. His father, Premchand Sharma, worked in Public Works Department in the Irrigation Branch of Haryana Government. Since childhood, he had the keen interest in acting and participated in social stage shows like Ramlila. His brother Ghanshyam Sharma supported him in acting when other family members were bit resistive towards his passion of acting. He got graduated from the National School of Drama, New Delhi in 1994 and then worked for about two years before moving to Mumbai in 1997.
