developed the screenplay and produced the movie. The movie has George Clooney in it, and there are few other actors in the movie. The movie draws inspiration from a non-fiction work ‘The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes.
Plot: The movie’s plot centers a group of people who are on a mission to save endangered artifacts and antiquities from the Nazis during the Second World War. A film might be full of good intent, and there may be surplus talents in the movie. But, the movie may prove to be a boring experience. The movie ‘The Monuments Men’ falls into the category of such films. There is no weight in the screenplay, and characters are devoid of the depth. The director has made a good attempt. But the director should concentrate more on chiseling characters that impress the audiences. The ideas behind the movie are better than the movie itself. The movie comes out with a question about whether soldiers should risk their lives for some piece of antiquities and paintings. The message in the movie is that saving the world is not about saving the people alone. The film takes up a rather sensitive subject of military people running helter-skelter to save the paintings. In spite of the good theme, the movie is unable to hold back the audiences to their seats. The book and the documentary are simply great, but it does not stick to the qualities of an entertaining feature film. The movie is noteworthy one not because it is a good entertainer, but because it has taken up an intriguing theme. The movie is about heroes saving the antiquities and artifacts. But, the dull and slow-paced movie fails to impress although it is a tribute to those martyrs.
Verdict: The movie is a tribute to martyrs that fails to draw the attention of audiences.
