Star performance
The lead actor, Timothee Chalamet as Mr Wonka made the audience in tears. He gives a unique and beautiful homage in his performance. His performance brilliant throughout the film, his mannerisms, temperament, humour, witness, and enthusiasm is extraordinary, cementing himself as the Willy Wonka. Another charming performer is Calah Lane as Noodle, her companionship matched with Chalamet’s well-natured character, displays emotion and hope. Calah Lane’s character is confused and silent initially, but with Wonka, she finds herself and then builds the confidence to become wholesome while tagging along with him. Hugh Grant’s character is impressive, exciting, a cunning, ill-humoured and persistently annoying. Though his screen time was very short, his performance as Oompa Loompa is comical and entertaining. All the other cast are exceptional as well. Atkinson and company added more laughs and interest to the film.
