When the entire Tamilnadu students protested to lift the ban on Jallikattu, Lawrence took part in the protest that was held in one of the world’s longest beach, Marina. While the protest was going on a peaceful way, the protesters were lathi-charged by the police and many were arrested and put in prison. Raghava waited for the appointment of Tamilnadu CM Panneer Selvam and met him yesterday. He thanked the CM for the ordinance for Jallikattu and amending the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, which helps to conduct Jallikattu. Lawrence also requested the CM to release the students, who are arrested during the protest. Lawrence said that the CM assured him that the students, who were not involved in violence, will be released. Lawrence also insisted the CM suggest a date to celebrate the victory of the protest.
