Plot
Velu lives in a village with his mother and sister. Their prized possession is the Jallikattu bull, Karuppan. Velu and Keerthi, from a wealthy family, are in love with each other. Keerthi’s father disapproves of their relationship and tries to get his daughter married off to a boy of his wish. In a local Jallikattu competition, Velu’s Karuppan wins the title and makes the entire family happy. But, to their shock, the bull disappears soon after the victory. Velu has to find out his only prized possession bull and also to stop his lover’s marriage by convincing her father. Will Velu be successful in finding Karuppan and marrying Keerthi? The rest of the film speaks about this.
Star Performance
Dinesh shines as Velu in this rural movie. His chemistry with Deepa Shankar and Nandana is good. Deepa is the show-stealer. She plays so naturally and her emotional performances are fantastic. She excels in the scenes when the bull goes missing. Nandana’s performance is okay.
Analysis
We have seen a lot of rural movies with bull taming subject. This is no special. Yet, the screenplay and the performances make us watch the film throughout. Though a few emotional scenes worked out, many scenes needed grip. Besides this, certain emotional scenes appear to exaggerate the affection and love and make the entire sequence dramatic. The combination scenes of Dinesh Master and Karuppan are finely made, and the emotional connection between them is admirable. Dinesh has honed his acting skills well. The songs are okay, but the BGM is not up to the mark.

Ninnu Vilayadu needs a little patience to watch. If you are interested in a rural thriller with emotions, you can watch it once!
