The court has ruled in favor of the 40-year old actor and ordered the magazine to grant an approximately $8,800 for the damages and legal fees besides the noting in the following issue that DiCaprio has succeeded in court.
The French court made a decision after learning that the magazine violates the privacy law of the country by publishing information about DiCaprio’s personal life. According to the owner of the magazine, Frederic Truskolaski, they are expecting for the decision of the court because they know that in France, when a magazine talks about the private life of any celebrity, they will automatically be condemned. But even though the owner lost in the case, it seems that he is not yet done with the actor. He suspected that DiCaprio’s lawsuit is according to a racial issue.
He said, DiCaprio is consistent in going out with Aryan-type girls and usually with blonde hair and he can’t stand the fact that the magazine is reporting that he is having a baby with a black girl. This report was issued by the magazine on their May 13th edition and DiCaprio happens to read it when he attended the Cannes Film Festival in France. He immediately asked his lawyer to sue the magazine.
