The spotlight isn't always on the heroes! Recently, we've been thinking back on Bollywood and Hindi movie villains that we adore to hate because, without them, our favorite movies wouldn't be the same. They are so vile and so despised that it nearly feels like we know them personally! Our infatuation with villains most likely developed as a result of western fantasy films, where truly evil characters were portrayed with excellent acting. But in this blog, we're primarily mentioning the Hindi film villains that are the stuff of our darkest worries. Let's look at it!
Many of us have grown up hearing the Hindi translation of the proverb "Sleep, or otherwise, Gabbar will come!" as a way to make us fearful—of course, with just feigned seriousness! However, when one watches the film, the laughs fall flat and an ominous atmosphere takes over. For the majority of us, Gabbar was the villain who first exposed us to the world of fictional or real-life bad guys. The answer to the question, "Who is the worst villain of all time?" is without a doubt he.
The unstoppable Mogambo had a lasting impression on us as kids as well. The only sound we can hear while writing this section is "Mogambo Khush Hua," and the goosebumps that ensue are due to one of the most iconic performances in Indian film history! He not only dominated the Hindi cinema industry, but also the Punjabi one!
You surely don't want to run into this bloodthirsty witch whose ponytail is the true threat. She was dressed in a traditional saree and had eyes that could truly kill—a very Indian movie villain version of the western witch legends we've encountered so far! She acted as the main character's stepmother and exuded a dreadful aura that significantly contributed to the film's eerie atmosphere.
Vices that were not there in Bipasha's role in the first part of Raaz because she wasn't portraying one of the Hindi film villains were seen in Shanaya in Vikram Bhatt's Raaz 3. A few examples include manipulation, rage, and self-destruction. Black magic rounds out the list. For the best experience, you might want to binge all three sections at once.
In Sangharsh, the child killer Lajja (Ashutosh Rana), the very definition of terrorism, sucked the life out of 90s kids and left them traumatized with his large, bloodshot eyes and spooky voice. Some of us had to watch him on film as a different persona for at least 10 to 15 years before we could do it without peeing our pants.
he talent of Nawazuddin as an actor needs no repetition. He did an amazing job portraying every character. However, Anurag Kashyap's Raman Raghav, in which he plays the part of Ramanna, a schizophrenic serial killer with a profoundly twisted mentality, is one film that scared viewers. For a very long time, many of us struggled to overcome the anxiety he instilled in us through that film.
Whoever claimed that they were unfazed by this comedy-horror from Vishal Bharadwaj is lying! Many of us still have dreams of Shabana Azmi devouring raw blood in her witchy form. Although it wasn't difficult to get rid of this impression of the seasoned performer because she was equally engaging in all of her other roles, this ominous imagery will always be with us.
Creep 101 In this Ram Gopal Verma thriller, Manoj Bajpayee plays nerdy Sameer, who bothers Urmila Matondkar Urmila Matondkar is an Indian actress born on 4th >> Read More... often. Even though the lady is ultimately revealed to be the murderer, Manoj's sticky hair, his specks, and his strange smile are all horrifying.
Let's face it: Mojulika will always rank among the spookiest ghosts in Indian cinema. Our collective memory is permanently marked by the wild hair, the smudged kohl in her eyes, and that dance of complete craziness. Many of us needed some time to get over this unsettling sight and accept her flexibility.
Sanjay Dutt has a reputation for always playing leading, uplifting parts. We were all shocked when Agneepath was released and Dutt was reportedly reprising Danny Denzongpa's perpetually scary persona! The film didn't let down, though, since Sanjay Dutt's physique and makeup supported the vile role he was playing.
