Born on 23 April 1969, Manoj Bajpai is first a Bollywood actor, though he has acted in a couple of southern films. He has been appreciated by several critics for his good performances. His noteworthy performances were in the films Bandit Queen, Pinjar, Aks, Satya and Gangs of Wasseypur. He has got various Filmfare awards and also many National awards.

Manoj Bajpai is a graduate in history. Before entering into acting Manoj was a teacher. He tried his luck in theater, but was rejected four times. Later, he worked in a theater Barry’s Drama School. His acting career started with a serial in Doordarshan. Later he performed in a minute role in Dastak . He was the male lead in the film Dil Pe Mat Le Yar and went on to act in small roles in Bandit Queen, Droh and Kaal. Then it was Satya that helped him reach stardom. His acting skills gained wide recognition; he was credited with several awards for this role. In this film he acted as a gangster. He also received various awards for Aks. Shool, Daud, Zubeidaa, Pinjar, Road etc. were some the films he acted. His Telugu film Happy was also a film in which he gained recognition. 

Manoj has often portrayed offbeat roles and he was widely appreciated for that. On the personal front, Bajpai is wedded to Shabana Raza, better known as Neha in Bollywood. If one remembers she had acted in the films Fiza and Kareeb.

Bharat Bhushan born in Meerut city of Uttar Pradesh in British India and brought up in Aligarh was an Indian actor. He was not only an actor but a scriptwriter as well as a producer. His performance is remembered for film Baiju Bawra for playing the character of the same name in the year 1952. He is the son of Raibahadur Motilar, who was a government official of Meerut. He along with his elder brother who was a film producer and owned a studio in Lucknow moved to Aligarh after her mother died when Bharat was two years old. He pursued his education and graduation from Aligarh and afterwards went on to establish his career in acting that was against the wish of his father. He first tried to join cinema in Calcutta but later moved to Bombay. He made his debut in the Indian cinema through film Chitralekha in the year 1941 which was directed by the director Kidar Sharma. He still struggled for another ten years and finally made his space through Baiju Bawra. He got the chance to work alongside very prominent and versatile actors of the film Industry like Meena Kumari, Naushad Ali, and Mohammad Rafi. He also performed male actor lead role in the film Basant Bahar. Apart from acting, he was also the producer of the film Dooj Ka Chand. His brother R. Chandra made films like Basant Bahar, Minar, and Bebus being a producer. Bhushan also wrote scripts for films like Dooj ka Chand, Basant Bahar, Barsat Ki Raat, Nai Umar Ki Nai Fasal, etc. He also bagged the Filmfare accolade for Best Actor for the film Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in the year 1954. He was pictured for many music-oriented films as he was considered very charming and good looking actor, so he portrayed lead roles in the music-based films of the 1950s and 1960s. He is considered to be a legendary and versatile actor of the Indian cinema. He remains in the hearts of his fans for his performance in films and music of which he had been a part. He got married to Sharadha, who belonged to a very prominent family and was the daughter of a wealthy Zamindar of Meerut. He had two daughters with her but, unfortunately, his wife died due to health complications. Bhushan had a second marriage with the co-actor of film Barsaat Ki Raat, Ratna in the year 1967. He was a very wealthy man and was the owner of many bungalows and cars in Bombay and other areas. He also heaped a huge collection of books. Though he was wealthy, he lost all his assets after being hit by a financial crisis. Unfortunately, he died on 27 January 1992 at the age of 71 years in Bombay after he managed to remove the financial complications imposed on him. His essence will remain here long after he has left the world.


Mayank Tandon

Mayank Tandon was a Hindi television actor who was associated with few television serials and shows. Although he was associated with television industry in the early 2000’s, he was roped in to play adult son in many serials. His second TV serial was “Karishma Kaa Karishma’. The show premiered on January 2003 on and ended in February 2004. The show was produced by Sunil Doshi. The show was the remake of an American sitcom ‘Small Wonder’. In this Hindi serial, Mayank played the role of the elder son of actor Sanjeev Seth and Eva Grover. Sanjiv Seth played the role of the scientist in the TV drama. The show was telecast on Star Plus channel. In this show, he played the character which belonged to his age group. ‘Karishma Kaa Karishma’ was a maiden venture of Alliance Media & Entertainment which depicts the tale of an educated Punjabi family. The screenplay was done by three writers namely Mukesh Ramani, Mukesh Agarwal and Rajiv Agarwal. In addition, it is stated that the first few episodes were directed by many different directors which include the name of Rahul Kapoor and Lilliput even. It may also be noted that when Karishma Kaa Karishma was aired on Star Plus, Mayank Tandon, was not a new face on television. He had earlier acted in few TV serials like Kittie Party, Hubahu, and Khushiyaan. In the year 2002, there was a TV serial named 'Hubahu' in which Mayank played a pivotal role. In another series ‘Khushiyaan’ which was telecast on Doordarshan, the actor Mayank had a brief role.
