Top 10 Bollywood Movies Based On Dance Hindi Article

Bollywood had a lot of genres, but the most loved ones are the movies based on dance. There is no doubt that our Indian celebrities have good acting skills but if it comes to the dancing skill they would never disappoint us. Here is the list of some famous movies based on dance.

1. Abcd: Any Body Can Dance

ABCD released in 2013, directed and choreographed by the great dancer, Remo D'Souza. Prabhu Deva, Ganesh Acharya, and Kay Kay Menon starred in the lead roles. Vishnu(Prabhu Deva) is the choreographer of the dance company but after a nasty discussion with his friend Jahangir( Kay Kay Menon), he threatened to leave his academy. He came to his friend Gopi ( Ganesh Acharya) and with the help of him, he got to collect the best dancers across the city and decided to train them and make them compete in the Dance Dil Se competition. After the victory of the competition, Jahangir realized his fault and praised them. Its sequel ABCD 2 released on 19 June 2015, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan.

2. Street Dancer 3D

Street dancer 3D is a dance movie, directed by Remo D'Souza, released on 24 January 2020. It starred Shraddha Kapoor, Nora Fatehi, and Varun Dhawan. The story revolves around two dance groups named street dancers and rule-breakers. Sahej(Varun Dhawan) is the leader of the street dancer group and Inayat(Shraddha Kapoor) is the leader of rule breakers. They both are rivalry teams, but both teams decided to be united and dance as one team. They do it because they want to help the NGO, S.W.A.T. to release the immigrant citizens from London.

3. Yeh Ballet

Yeh Ballet is the 2020 Netflix original movie, written and directed by Sooni Taraporevala. It starred Achintya Bose, Manish Chauhan, and Julian Sands. This story revolves around the dance named, ballet. There are two god-gifted Mumbai teens Asif (Manish Chauhan) and Nishu (Achintya Bose) who want to be ballet dancers, but didn't get approval from their families. They joined a ballet dance academy to pursue their dreams.

4. Munna Michael

Munna Michael is an action dance movie released in 2010. It starred Tiger Shroff, Nidhi Aggarwal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It is directed by Sabir Khan and Vimmi Datta. It revolves around an adopted child Munna Roy (Tiger Shroff) grown-up as an extraordinary dancer and a die-hard fan of Michael Jackson. One day Munna meets Dolly (Nidhi Agarwal) who is also a club dancer and soon, they both fell in love with each other. Dolly told Munna that she wants to win the dancing star contest held in Mumbai. She offered Munna to be her dance partner. This movie showcases a beautiful journey of winning the show.

5. Happy New Year

Happy New Year is an action-comedy movie released on 24th October 2014 starring Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, and Boman Irani. This movie is written by Mayur Puri and directed by Farah Khan. This Story revolves around a street fighter named Charlie (Shah Rukh Khan) who wants to take revenge on Charan Grover (Jackie Shroff) because he blamed Charlie's father, a thief. Charlie wanted to steal the emerald worth 300 crores, which belongs to Charan. To steal the emerald he needs to go to Dubai. So he practiced to con Charan by preparing a dance team which includes Mohini (Deepika Padukone), Tammy (Boman Irani) Nandu (Abhishek Bachchan), and jug (Sonu Sood). At last, he was able to steal the emerald and they won the dance competition.

6. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is a romantic comedy movie, released on 12 December 2008, directed and written by Aditya Chopra. It revolves around a simple and sober man, Surendra Sahani (Shahrukh Khan) who deeply fell in love with Tani (Anushka Sharma). On the death of Tani's boyfriend, her father wants her to marry Surendra Sahni. Tani doesn't find him attractive and finds it difficult to carry her relationship with Surendra. Surendra felt that and decided to makeover. Taani joined the dance class and after the makeover, Surendra's physical appearance completely changed into a cool dude and he also joined the dance class as a partner of Tani and changed his name to Raj. Taani didn't recognize him and fell in love with Raj. But, after some time, she realized that whenever she needs help, Surendra Sahni always stands for her. So she decided to carry on her marriage happily.

7. Dil To Pagal Hai

Dil To Pagal Hai is a romantic movie released in 1997, directed by Uday Chopra. It starred Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Akshay Kumar and Karisma Kapoor. The story revolves around the famous dance troupe in which Nisha (Karisma Kapoor) and Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) are the lead members. Nisha fell in love with Rahul but Rahul is busy directing a musical drama, Maya. Nisha is confused and asks Rahul about Maya. Rahul described that Maya is a beautiful girl who truly believes in love and is waiting for her Prince charming. Pooja (Madhuri Dixit) is an orphan and lives with her guardians' family and Ajay is the only son of Pooja's guardians. They both are best friends, but Ajay fell in love with Pooja. One day Pooja and Rahul accidentally meet each other and Rahul feels that Pooja is the girl who completely defines the character, Maya. One day Rahul watched the dance of Pooja and he approached her to perform the character, Maya. During the rehearsal of the dance, they both fell in love with each other.

8. Chance Pe Dance

Chance Pe Dance movie is based on dance, released in 2010, directed and written by Ken Ghosh. It starred Shahid Kapoor and Genelia D'Souza. The story revolves around Sameer Behl (Shahid Kapoor) who comes to Mumbai to pursue his dreams as a dancer. One day a director named Rajeev Sharma (Mohnish Behl) offered him a movie and his friend Tina (Genelia D'Souza) also helped him as a choreographer. But after some time he quit the movie. After that Tina advised him to participate in a talent hunt show in which the winner will play the role which he wants to play. Sameer won the competition and became the hero of the movie Chance Pe Dance.

9. Mad About Dance

Mad About Dance is based on dance, released in 2010. It starred Sahil Prem and Amrit Maghera, directed and written by Sahil Prem. The Story revolves around the University and the students of the University. This movie beautifully represents the struggle of students to achieve their dreams. Aarav( Sahil Prem) and Aashira ( Amrit Maghera) wanted to be the best dancers and wanted to pursue their career in dancing.

10. Aaja Nachle

Aaja Nachle is a movie based on dance released on 30 November 2007, starring Madhuri Dixit, Konkana Sen Sharma, Jugal Hansraj, and Kunal Kapoor. It was directed by Anil Mehra and produced by Aditya Chopra. The story revolves around a choreographer Dia ( Madhuri Dixit) who went to New York after marrying an American photographer, Steve; later they divorced. One day she got to know that her master Makrand is dying. She returned to her hometown, Shamli but her master died and gave her a responsibility to save the dance theatre, Ajanta which was about to be demolished. To save Ajanta, she talked to local MP Raja Uday Singh, who put a challenge if she can arrange a successful performance using people from Shamli, then he will prevent the demolition. She accepted the challenge and got into the work.
