Date of Birth: 25th October 1988 Shakthisree Gopalan is an Indian singer. She is also a lyricist and performer. Her genres are Soft Rock, Jazz, Western Classical Music and Pop. She was born and raised in Kochi, Kerala. She completed her schooling from Rajagiri Public School, Kalamassery. She completed her graduation in Architecture at the Anna University's School of Architecture and Planning after she moved to Chennai. In 2008, she won SS Music's Voice Hunt – second season. She was auditioned in November 2008.

She made her singing debut with the film Taxi 4777. She is a part of the band "Off the Record” which got formed in May 2009. She began her career as a playback singer after she won the SS Music Voice Hunt title in 2008. She sang for films like Irumbukottai Murattu Singham, Rajathi Raja, and Kattradhu Kalavu. She has worked with A.R. Rahman for many of his projects. She bagged the title track of Bollywood film, Jab Tak Hain Jaan.

S.N.Surendar Tamil Actor


S. N. Surendar is the popular Tamil cinema actor, dubbing artist and a playback singer. He was born and brought up in Chennai. His family is a musical family. His sister Shoba Chandrasekar is also music passionate, who has sung few songs in the films and she is also doing live concerts in Carnatic music. Shoba is the popular Tamil director S. A. Chandrasekar’s wife and popular Tamil hero Vijay’s mother. Surendar has sung more than five hundred songs in various south Indian movies. Basically, he is a voice over artist and has rendered his voice for more than 600 films. His voice perfectly suits the Tamil cum Kannada actor Mohan and Surendar has rendered his voice to Mohan in almost all his films, except one or two. His voice is unique and it is loved by the audience. Most of the Tamil audiences had thought his voice is actor Mohan’s. He has also dubbed actor Kannan in the movie Kadhal Oviyam and Nedumudi Venu in Anniyan. Right from 1980, he is acting in the films too. Some of the films in his acting list are Yaaga Salai, Naalaya Theerpu, Ayya Vazhi and Priyamudan. He says his father S.S. Neelakandan is the Guru, who taught him the music. Though S. N. Surendar has sung hundreds of songs, his favorite songs are Thanimayile from Sattam Oru Iruttarai, Maamaratthu Poo Edutthu from the movie Oomai Vizhigal, Paarijatha Poove from the movie En Raasavin Manasile, Muthama from the movie Sigaram and Poove Poove Pen Poove from Once More. S. N. Surendar has received the Kalaimamani award from the Tamilnadu State Government for his services in the film industry. He also has received the best dubbing artist award from the Tamilnadu State Government in 2005. S. N. Surendar’s son Hari Prashanth is also a child artist, who appeared in Anniyan and Chennai 28. S. Sirkazhi Govindarajan

Sirkazhi Govindarajan, the Carnatic Vocalist cum movie playback singer, was born on 19th January 1933 in Sirkazhi. Sirkazhi is the birthplace of Thirugnanasambandar, one of the 63 Nayanmars, who developed Saivism. Govindarajan’s parents are Siva Chidambaram and Avayambal Ammal. He is a prodigy infant, who started performing vocals at the age of eight at Tirupurasundari Temple when the Gnana Paal Festival was celebrated.  At the age of 16, he got his Music Graduation, Isaimani from The Tamil Isai College. He had also graduated Sangeetha Vidwan degree. Thiruppampuram Swaminatha Pillai, a Professor at the Central College of Carnatic Music was Govindarajan’s mentor. Swaminatha Pillai trained Sirkazhi Govindarajan in classical Carnatic music. Sirkazhi Govindarajan won three gold medals in a row at Sangeetha Vidwat Sabha and also won the first place in Thiagaraja Swamigal’s Apoorva Krithis, Ragam Thaanam Pallavi and Tamil Classical Songs. Besides singing the Carnatic, Tamil Classical Songs, he had sung the film songs in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada. He was honored with a doctorate by Madras University in 1983. Sirkazhi Govindarajan had also played in a few films in cameo roles. His Nakkeerar role in Kandhan Karunai and Agathiyar role in the movie Agathiyar are very popular. He had also played a devotee in Thirumalai Thenkumari, a cop in Vaa Raja Vaa, Nambiyandar Nambi in Rajaraja Chozhan, Naradhar in Dasavatharam that released in 1976 and Agathiyar in Meenakshi Thiruvilayadal. He had appeared in a couple of films as himself and in one of the films named Deivam, he had crooned a song along with TM Soundararajan and it was a hit devotional song. Sirkazhi Govindarajan was honored with the Padma Shri award from the Indian Government for his services to the music world. The Tamilnadu Government honored him with the Best Male Singer award for the film Thirumalai Thenkumari.
