T.K. Kala is an Indian playback singer and an actress who was born in Chennai, India. Her mother is the well- known Indian Tamil cinema actress named Shanmugasundari. T.K. Kala has four sisters named Neela, Mala, Meena and Selvi. Kala was interested in music and singing from her childhood and she learnt music under several music teachers. She began her singing career when she was small. She met M. G. Ramachandran at a party and he identified her ability in singing and he introduced her to K. V. Mahadevan. She was often selected by film producers for singing songs for child actresses in Tamil and Telugu films. Some of her recordings are "Poivaa Nadhi Alaiye", "Kulicha Kutralam", "Edhukku Pondatti", "Poranthiruchu Kaalam" and "Sengathe". T.K. Kala began her Kollywood acting career in the year 2004, with “Ghilli”. Ghilli is a production of A.M. Rathnam. In Ghilli, she played the role of Muthupandi's mother. Kala has played several supporting roles in Tamil movies. Her second film is “Veyil” by S. Shankar. In the year 2008, she appeared in two films Kuruvi and Pirivom Santhippom. In Kuruvi, she played the role of Vetrivel's mother and in Pirivom Santhippom, she played the supporting role of Meenakshi. Later, she gave her contribution to several other Tamil films, such as “Magizhchi” (2010), “ Kaadu Click to look into! >> Read More... ” (2014) and “I” (2015). T.K. Kala is also a voice actor.
