Joshua Sridhar is an Indian music director and film composer. He is a master in playing instruments like Electronic Keyboard and is very well known for his voice. He made his first attempt in the industry with the super hit Tamil movie Kaadhal which came on the floors on 8 December 2004. He has given a composition for many Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil movies. His composition is witnessed in movies like Danger, Kalasala, Love Guru, Gaana Bajaana, Huchudugaru, Vellaiya Irukiravan Poi Solla Maatan, Ninaithu Ninaithu Parthen and much more. Joshua was born in Chennai to Rajalakshmi and Saravanan. He did his schooling from Rajaji Vidyashram Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's in Chennai from 1980 to 1990. After completing his High School he learned Western Classic Music two years.

He went to Trinity College in London, where he studied 8 Grades in Piano and Theory of Music. In the year 1993, he changed his religion to Christianity and was converted at the Emmanuel Methodist Church which is in Chennai. His name was changed from Sridhar to Joshua, which means the character of an old testament from the bible. He did not want to remove the name which he was referred to from the time of his birth and so he kept his name as Sridhar and was then known to everyone as Joshua Sridhar.

In 2004 he again got converted himself as a Hindu and left the practice of Christianity. Joshua Sridhar started his career in 1993 as a composer, for gospel albums. He used to even arrange and program the music for the company and even make jingles for them. After three years of practice, he made a mark in the industry with the super hit Tamil movie Kaadhal. He worked as a programmer and keyboard player for many films from the south Indian industry. He gave his contribution in all Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil movies. He has even worked with notable musicians and composers like the Oscar winner A.R. Rahman and Manisharma.

He had received a great appreciation from the critics for his composition in his first movie. Vishal Chandrasekhar, a young and bright talent, has worked on more than 300 short films and 172 jingles, which everyone in the movie and television industry looks forward to. With so much experience and knowledge in terms of composing, he is still very young and has yet to explore and widen his exposure to more genres. He also had an opportunity to work with Santhosh Sivan for his war film, ‘Inam’, in 2014, and was acclaimed by the critics saying that he has done a good job by taking the opportunity well in hand. He has also created music for the Telugu movie, ‘Hrudayam Ekkadunnadi’, and a Tamil science-fiction film called ‘Appuchhi Gramam’, whose song ‘En Kannukulle’, became really popular. Both the movies released in 2014. He also gave music for Siddharth’s, ‘Jil Jung Juk’, in which his songs, ‘Shoot the Kuruvi’ and ‘Red Roadu’ became super hits. He is trying to give a shot in Peruvian, Egyptian, Spanish and Mexican kind of music. He believes that to be a good composer it is imperative to change with the changing time and trends. Composing needs a specific space and fresh mind to bring in new tunes. He thinks that saturation after composing music is good as it lets you experiment and stops you from becoming overconfident.
