She is only eighteen, but she already has three movies to her credit. She made her debut in Mani Ratnam’s 2013 film Kadal when she was only fourteen. In her very first film, she acted alongside Gautham, who was the son Karthik, of a well-known Tamil actor. She also got to act with many former Tamil stars including Arjun and Aravind Swamy.

The movie was much talked about before its release, and her face wasn’t revealed to the media. Despite the movie’s commercial failure, Thulasi received positive reviews, praising her for her child-like and vivacious portrayal of Beatrice, her character in the film. She was even nominated for South Indian International Movie Award for Best Debut Actress. She was later featured alongside Tamil actor Jiiva (Ko fame) in the film Yaan, by debut director K.Ravichandran. She is humble enough to credit her directors and co-actors for all that she has done. In an interview with the Times of India, she had mentioned that she’d like to take things slowly and focus on her studies. She also said that she’s in no hurry and wouldn’t want to take too many things on her plate. She has a good relation with her family and always turns to her mother, aunt and sister for acting tips and improvement.
