Jaya Re is an Indian actress. She has acted in two Tamil movies so far. Along with study, she has participated in several beauty contests in earlier days. The stunning lady achieved the title of Miss Goa Pageant Winner. Later she decided to pursue acting as her career. Her debut movie was Chocolate which was released on 7th September, 2001. Jaya Re played the role of the heroine named Anjali alongside the hero Prashanth (who played the role of Aravind).

The movie was directed by veteran director A. Venkatesh and casted renowned artists like Mumtaj, Suhasini Mani Ratnam and several others. Her next and so far the last film is Yai Nee Romba Azhaga Irukey (English: ‘Hey, You Are So Beautiful!’). It is a South Indian film released in 2002. In this movie she plays the role of a fashion-model named Swapna. The movie is directed by Vasanth and several famous Tamil artists like Shaam, Sneha, Vivek play vital roles in the movie.

Gayathrie Shankar is the current crop of Tamil actress list. She has been seen in leading roles in some Tamil films. She was supposed to debut with the film, Yen Ippadi Mayakkinai, but the film unfortunately didn’t get released. Her first film was 18 Vayasu. The turning point of her career was the film Naduvila Konjam Pakkatha Kanom. Gayathrie has acted in over 5 films in Tamil. Gayathrie worked in a couple of films during the year 2013, namely Mathapoo and Ponmalai Pozhudhu. Later, she was paired with Vijay Sethupathi in the film Rummy. The film also had Aishwarya Rajesh. Gayathrie feels that her co-star Vijay Sethupathy is hardworking and sincere. Gayathrie hails from Bangalore, but her mother tongue is Tamil. Her parents are bank employees. She has a degree in Psychology. The acting prowess of Gayathrie is yet to be seen. Gayathrie was just studying in 12th standard, when she received film offers. It was like a dream for her and once she mentioned that she took up acting just for the sake of it and never actually planned. She has also revealed that stage fright and agitation over public speaking affected her, but she came out of that once she entered the film industry. Gayathrie had confessed that, she is like a gypsy by heart and would have taken up something related to psychology if she was not an actress. When she was studying in 12th standard she got the film En Ippadi Mayakkinai, but the film was not released and hence in the gap she pursued her degree, much to the happiness of her mother.  Gayathrie owes to director Krishna for making her act without fear. She had 4 months training in acting. Later she was not afraid to face the camera. She has big dreams after En Ippadi Mayakkinai. Gayathrie was very much involved in the movie. Gayathrie likes Sivaji Ganesan, Amrish Puri, Nasureedin Shah and Rajinikanth. She wants to work with Maniratnam, Goutam Menon, Murugadoss and to name a few.



Being born in 1957, Jayachitra hails from Andhra Pradesh. She entered the film industry when she was 10 years old; she acted in the Telugu film Bhakta Potana. A Telugu director screen tested her during her teens, but found that, she was very young. All the same the director recommended her to another director K.S. Gopalakrishnan, who tapped her talent and hence she acted in the Tamil film “Korathi Magan”. The director was impressed by her method of delivering her dialogues. Here, then he made her act in three of his films and christened her Jayachitra (her original name is Lakshmi).    Jayachitra had acted with legends including Sivaji Ganesan and M G Ramachandran. She was the choice for films of great directors including K Balachander. Also, she shared screen space with Kamal Haasan in the film “Ilamai Oonjaladugirathu”. She played the same role in the Telugu version too.    Jayachitra is a spontaneous actress and most of her films in Tamil were with Kamal Haasan. Her boldness and spontaneity was her forte and she acted in Tamil and Telugu films. She also starred in some Kannada and Malayalam films. Some of her memorable films include "Ponnukku Thanga Manasu", "Kalyanamam Kalyanam", "Sathyam" and "Vandikaran Magan”. She did the role of cinema fanatic in the Tamil film “Cinema Paithiyam” which is the remake of the Hindi film “Guddi”. She also excelled in the Telugu film “Kalpana”; this film is the remake of Hindi film “Anamika”. As this Telugu film became a hit she acted in many films with the lead actor of the film Murali Mohan.    Jayachitra concentrated in her family life after tying the knot with an industrialist Ganesh. She is blessed with a son Amresh. During 2010 she directed a film “Naane Ennul Illai” wherein her son is the hero. As a matured artiste Jayachitra acted as a character artiste. Then she focused on Television after being satisfied with 200 films. She was successful in the small screen since the serial “Sumangali” which she directed and produced became a hit. She was the unanimous choice of TV Serial Producers Guild of South India’s action committee. Later she entered politics wherein she is a member of the Congress Party. Jayachitra has many awards to her credit.
