Yechan Gunja Mahendran or famously known as Y.G.Mahendran was born as Y. Gee Mahendra on January 9, 1950 at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He is a very famous serial and cinema actor, dramatist, producer, director and also a well-known playwright singer. His father, Y.G. Parthasarathy is a known pioneer of the new Tamil drama and her mother, Rajalakshmi Parthsarathy initiated the Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan or the PSBB, a group of schools where she is also the dean located in Chennai. Y.G. Mahendra is the cousin of the veteran actress, Vyjayanthimala.

Y. G. Mahendra’s father started the UAA or the United Amateur Artists. It is a drama company build in 1952 at Madras City and it’s probably one of the first. The company became popular and successful and he came out as one of the leading dramatists of his age.

Since Y. G. Mahendra hailed from the household of the stage-lovers, he developed his interest for drama during his early age. He played as a comedian in school plays and praised by many. He studied at Don Bosco Matriculation School in Chennai and moved to A. C. College of Technology in Madras, Guindy and studied Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. During college, he was hyped as a film director. When he was in his early teens, he entered UAA, the drama troupe build by his father from which he received the anticipated break he needs. Some of the first plays he made became a massive hit that attracts thousands of audiences. From that time, he became one of the renowned people in the city. Y. G. Mahendra chooses acting over his career in Industrial Ceramics and flourishing business which started in 1982. When he entered this line of businesses, his career as an actor thinned down so he spent more time on managing his businesses. Subsequently, Y. G. Mahendra’s ceramic business was sold for a big amount and he made his comeback in the production and performing as an actor.

Y. G. Mahendra was featured in the film Navagraham in 1971 by the famous director, K. Balachander. The film became an average grosser and people started to know him through his funny nasal accent. Since then, he had performed in several roles from various movies. His career spans for over forty years and finished over two hundred movies. He also performed a supporting roles with some of the well-known actors namely Jaishankar, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and a lot more. His films with Rajinikanth include Paayum Puli, Pokkiri Raja, Veera and Shri Raghavendra. He was with Kamal Haasan in films like Guru, Apporva Raagangal and more.

He attended stage plays like Venkat 3, Sudesi Iyer, Kaadhalikka Neramundu, Antha 7 Aatkal, Thanthramukhi and Vietnam Veedu. He also dubbed for the Tamil version of the Telugu film, Sommokakadidhi Sokkakikidhi.

M. S. Bhaskar is an Indian actor, born on Jan 19, 1952, and hailed from Muthupettai, Tiruvavur District, Tamil Nadu, India. He used to be a theater artist and performed as a comedian in Tamil TV series and films. His method of acting is simple and is getting professional by the day. He became famous for playing as Pattabi in the TV serial, Chinna Papa Periya Papa and Selvi; and as Vakkeel Venky in the 2005 Tamil film, Sivakasi; and as Gnanaprakasam in Mozhi. Besides acting, he was also a dubbing artist and a playback singer. He joined the Society for New Drama, a Tamil troupe performing contemporary theatrical plays around Tamil Nadu. He became famous for a role as Accountant Bhaskar in one remarkable play. To increase his income, he worked as an agent for a short time and operates in the Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank on 1981 to 2006 and retired voluntarily. He then acted in a variety of other troupes such as Nungambakkam Boys Kondatum along with comedian, Santhanam after the society’s dissolution. Before his career in acting, he used to work in a paste company. During this time, Bhaskar started as a dubbing artist. He dubs Telugu films to Tamil and spoke the lines of the comedians. So far, he dubbed for more than 1000 films, and he said the hardest dubbing job he did was for Kamaraj. Until now, he is still a dubbing artist for English Films that was dubbed in Tamil on Sun TV. Her sister, Hemamalini is a dubbing artist as well. In 1992, the dramatic society was ended; he transferred to DD1 and DD2 Teleserials such as Nam Kudumbam and Vizhudugal before he was given the roles in Ganga Yamuna Saraswati on Sun TV and Mayavi Marichan from the same channel. Then, he appeared in the Sun TV’s popular comedy serial, Chinna Papa Periya Papa and the Senior Junior TV series that made a leap in his career. Later on, he was featured on Sun TV’s Tamil soap, Selvi and teleserial, Arasi. In films, Bhaskar was debuted in the year 1987 where he enacted a small role in Thirumathi Oru Vegumathi. Following with various films in 1990’s where he performed small roles only. This includes the 2001 comedy film, Friends, and Tamil film, Thamizhan in 2002. He finished doing supporting roles from the movies Dasavathaaram, Sadhu Miranda, Sivaji: The Boss, Mozhi and Santosh Subramaniam. In 2009, Bhaskar has acted in more than 75 films. Bhaskar acted in films like Makkal En Pakkam, Salem Vishnu, Kottai Maariyamman, Dumm Dumm, Dumm, Kedi, Dharmapuri, Soodhu Kavvum, Sutta Kadhai, All in All Azhagu Raja and a lot more. He also did serials like Nam Kudumbam, Alaigal, Mayavi Marichan and more.
