Ramji is a famous actor, dancer, choreographer from Tamil Nadu, who is known for his performance in movies, television serials and stage shows. He entered the media world as a dancer and appeared in number of popular songs. As public loved his acting skills, he got opportunity to act in character roles which he did excellently. This gave him an entry on many other fields and he continues his journey as a successful television artist.

Ramji’s stint in the movie world was full of successes, starting with the super hit song “Vellarikkaa Pinju Vellarikkaa” where he danced with actress Rani. This pair was loved by public and Ramji appeared in number of other songs. He acted in popular movies such as Pennin Manathai Thottu and Unnai Ninaithu. He got chances to compere programs in television, which he did perfectly. His unique style in programs such as “Dance Machi Dance” gave him a great fan following even on the television world.

Ramji next ventured in television serials. He acted in character roles as well as humorous roles which fit him. He acted in Kasalavu Nesam, a famous television serial in Sun TV, followed by another super hit serial “ Marma Desam”. After that, he got chance to act as a solo hero in the serial 'Pondaatti Thevai', which is the story of a man who tells a lie and gets caught because of that. His performance in the recent serial “ Valli” (Sun TV) is also getting great reviews now from television viewers. Ramji has got awards for his acting skills as well as dance skills which he showcased beautifully in the title song of his serial “Pondaatti Thevai”.

Y.G.Mahendra

Yechan Gunja Mahendran or famously known as Y.G.Mahendran was born as Y. Gee Mahendra on January 9, 1950 at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He is a very famous serial and cinema actor, dramatist, producer, director and also a well-known playwright singer. His father, Y.G. Parthasarathy is a known pioneer of the new Tamil drama and her mother, Rajalakshmi Parthsarathy initiated the Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan or the PSBB, a group of schools where she is also the dean located in Chennai. Y.G. Mahendra is the cousin of the veteran actress, Vyjayanthimala. Y. G. Mahendra’s father started the UAA or the United Amateur Artists. It is a drama company build in 1952 at Madras City and it’s probably one of the first. The company became popular and successful and he came out as one of the leading dramatists of his age. Since Y. G. Mahendra hailed from the household of the stage-lovers, he developed his interest for drama during his early age. He played as a comedian in school plays and praised by many. He studied at Don Bosco Matriculation School in Chennai and moved to A. C. College of Technology in Madras, Guindy and studied Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. During college, he was hyped as a film director. When he was in his early teens, he entered UAA, the drama troupe build by his father from which he received the anticipated break he needs. Some of the first plays he made became a massive hit that attracts thousands of audiences. From that time, he became one of the renowned people in the city. Y. G. Mahendra chooses acting over his career in Industrial Ceramics and flourishing business which started in 1982. When he entered this line of businesses, his career as an actor thinned down so he spent more time on managing his businesses. Subsequently, Y. G. Mahendra’s ceramic business was sold for a big amount and he made his comeback in the production and performing as an actor. Y. G. Mahendra was featured in the film Navagraham in 1971 by the famous director, K. Balachander. The film became an average grosser and people started to know him through his funny nasal accent. Since then, he had performed in several roles from various movies. His career spans for over forty years and finished over two hundred movies. He also performed a supporting roles with some of the well-known actors namely Jaishankar, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and a lot more. His films with Rajinikanth include Paayum Puli, Pokkiri Raja, Veera and Shri Raghavendra. He was with Kamal Haasan in films like Guru, Apporva Raagangal and more. He attended stage plays like Venkat 3, Sudesi Iyer, Kaadhalikka Neramundu, Antha 7 Aatkal, Thanthramukhi and Vietnam Veedu. He also dubbed for the Tamil version of the Telugu film, Sommokakadidhi Sokkakikidhi. Some of Y. G. Mahendra’s films are Nootrukku Nooru, Gauravam, Dikkatra Parvathi, Idhaya Malar, Shankar Salim Simon, Murattu Kalai Raja Paarvai, Kazhugu, Sangili, Vellai Roja, Sumangali, Vaazhkai, Thraasu, Nalla Thambi, Sakthivel, Kusthi, Seval, Pen Singam, Iilaignan, Venghai, Marupadiyum Oru Kadhal, Puthran, Irandam Ulagam, Thalaivaa and some of his recent films are Ramanujan and Irukku Aana Illai. He also did a Malayalam film in 1983 entitled, Oomakkuyil.
