Jaya Rathakrishnan

Jaya Rathakrishnan is an incredible artist who is vastly known by people worldwide for her extraordinary talent. She is a Singaporean bilingual screenwriter, lyricist, and director. She has given a lot of appreciable works, which gave her fame from her fans. A few of the notable ones are Vasantham Star 2005, Vyjayanthi, and Vettai Season 1. She was born on 10 March 1981, in Singapore.

She completed her schooling at one of the renowned schools and later went to Australia for her further studies. She graduated from Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane in 2006 by earning a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film & Television. She continued with her education due to her keen interest in filmmaking and did her Master in Mass Communication at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2010). Further, she stepped into the world of movies and began as an assistant producer, and also commenced polishing her skills in writing and is therefore producing with Eaglevision, Mediacorp for a very long time. Her work made her unique from others and hence gained attention from people across the country.

Jaya has written numerous scripts, screenplays for blockbuster shows, and award-winning programs, which attained quite attention from her fans. In addition, Jaya has also written various songs, which were megahits from that time, for say Oru Murai, Kangal Rendil, Ketta Pillai, and Vidiyalai Kaanavillai. All these songs helped her in making her name a brand worldwide. One another accomplishments include her song under Kollywood composer 'Mohamaad Ghibran's music for a Tamil movie, which attained massive love from fans all around the nation.

She made a significant step for her career when she established her media film named Stardust Story, which is currently in partnership with theatre director Beatrice Chia-Richmond. Since then, she has penned for numerous famous series under the name of Stardust Story along with the screenplay for Michael Chiang's Mixed Signals, After Love, and Thilaanaa. Additionally, there were series, Mixed Signals, and Thilaanaa which grabbed vast attention from fans and were screened at the Singapore Media Festival 2019. Her achievement was recognized each time. She is the worthy recipient of Pradhana Vizha “Most Popular Programme” for Vasantham Star 2005, Pradhana Vizha “Best Drama” for Vyjayanthi 2011, Pradhana Vizha “Most Popular Programme” and “Best Drama” for Nijangal S2 2012, Asian Television Awards “Commendable award for Best Opening Song” for Kshatriyan 2015, and Pradhana Vizha “Best Child” for Janani d/o Madhavan S1 2016.
