Yugi Sethu Tamil Actor

Yugi Sethu

Yugi Sethu is a multi-talented man. He is an actor, screenwriter, director, writer, producer and a show host. So many qualities in one person are rare to find. He was born on 28th January in Chennai. He belongs to Oothukaadu, which is a small town near Kumbakonam. He has done his graduation in Commerce and his masters in Political Science. Though he studied two subjects, his interest was more towards fine arts, but he could not pursue that. Well! None of the three subjects could give him the success and fame that he has today. He is married to Amritha Kalyani and has two children with her. As an actor, he has done only a few films. He has played the lead roles as well as supporting roles. He is mainly a screenwriter. He applied his diversified skills in the less known Tamil movie ‘Maathangal Aezhu’ which means seven months. He had written not only the movie but also directed it. He played the hero in this film, and the other actors were Nassar and Ramya Krishnan. The most interesting thing about the movie is the song ‘Kaadhalenna Kaadhal,’ which can be sung without touching both the lips. Such an exceptional composition shocked and amused people. His debut Tamil film ‘Kavi Thai Panda Neramillai’ in which he acted along with Amala and Nassar in 1987 won a local award. He wrote the script, produced it, and even directed the movie. As a student, he made an eight minute long B&W movie titled ‘The Rhetoric Of The Continuity’ in 1984. It was the only film that represented India at the International Film Festival. The unique thing about this movie was that it has Satyajit Ray’s music as background score. Though many of Yugi’s work are less known, he has won a gold medal for film direction. He is much known for his late night talk shows. This talented man is now working on his Ph.D. in Film Aesthetics.

Aari

‘Aari’ is a Tamil actor who has the look of a next door boy. He has a strong background in theatre (Magic Lantern, Theatre Nisha and Inland Theatres) that has helped him with his acting skills. He got to act alongside veterans like Shankar, K. Balachander and Bharathiraja in a short span of his career, which is indeed a remarkable feat for this young actor. For N. Krishna's third flick, titled ‘Nedunchaalai’ (meaning ‘Highway’), to portray the character, Aari had lost ten kgs, and the project was shot entirely for two years before getting completed. Despite having the rugged look, Aari was not very impressive as the outlaw Murugan. Nevertheless, the film received rave reviews as it had sketched the lives of those people who depend on a highway for their livelihood. In his next movie, ‘Dharani’, the actor got much better reviews. In the film ‘Dharani’, he bagged the role that has two looks. For one character, he sported a lean clean-shaven look, and for the other, he had turned out like a ruffian. Aari could not have asked for a better scope than this. The film is directed by Guhan (who was earlier an assistant director to Ram Gopal Varma). Looking back at his career graph, he was the ultimate choice for director Shankar, who gave him the opportunity to debut in his film, ‘Rettaisuzhi’ (2010). In 2015, audiences like him for playing a stellar role in ‘Maya’, a supernatural movie, which had Nayantara in the title role, whereas Aari plays the role of a sketching artist. His acting caught the attention of both critics and the viewers, alike. The actor is a bit choosy in selecting good scripts, and wants to know the character which he is going to portray in detail, His forthcoming releases that are awaited by the audience are ‘Kadai Enn 6’, and ‘Maane Thaene Paeye’. He was born on April 2, 1982, in Palani.
