Napoleon Duraisamy usually referred to as Napoleon in South India is a very successful MP. He took over the seat on 28 May 2009 after A. Raja. Napoleon was born to Kumaresan Duraisamy on 2 December 1963 in Tiruchirapalli, Madras located in India. He is 52 years now. He is a political party leader supporting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is married to Jayasudha Napoleon and have two children named Dhanush and Gunal. He resides in Chennai in Tamil Nadu along with the family. He also owns a residence in New Delhi, India. He completed his education in Trichy in a school banned St. Joseph's College. By profession, he is an amongst the well known and very successful actors. He also take part in politics and is also known to have started a business, that makes him an entrepreneur. He is the founder and the chairperson of the start up caked "Jeevan Technologies". He acted in many movies and is very well seen in the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movies. He has also made his appearances in Kannada movies too. He is born to very humble parents Duraisamy Reddiar and Saraswathi Ammal. Before gaining support and becoming the leader of BJP, he was heavily inclined and involved in the principles of DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) party.

He got it at ease to join the party as his relative Uncle Nehru was a part and a member of that party and as well a Welfare Minister of the state government. At the age of 27, he gained heavy interest so as to improve his acting skills. After watching the movie "Udhyam", he decided to act on movies, and he succeeded in his acting career. His inspiration brought him to the film industry with a debut in the Tamil him industry. He acted in his first rural themed film canned "Pudhu Nellu Pudhu Naathu". Later after years into film industry he also got the chance to work in stone blockbuster movies such as "Pokiri" and "Dasavatharam". He is praised for good best performance and acting in his movie called "Devasuram," where he bought the role of Shekhar into life. Other than his acting career, his activities are active in the field such as politics and business. As an entrepreneur, he started Jeevan Technologies in the year 2000 in Chennai and later expanded its branches in different countries such as U. S. A, New Zealand, etc. The main mission of his industry was to train the graduate students with the formal education of the corporate sector so as to meet the high industrial standards

Napoleon aka Kumaresan Duraisamy is an actor, politician and entrepreneur. He was born on 2 December 1963 in Trichy (Tamil Nadu) and belongs to family, who works in agriculture. He graduated from the well reputed school, St. Joseph's College, situated in Trichy. At the age of twenty-seven, he was debuted in the film industry with ‘Pudhu Nellu Puddhu Nathu’ (1991), in which he charmed the viewers by playing a sixty year old man.

He has revealed in some interviews that it was after watching ‘ Udhayam Coming Soon... >> Read More... ’ that he decided to pursue acting. Three years later, he bagged his first lead role in ‘Seevalaperi Pandi.’ The film made him climb the ladder of success. In 1997, he was awarded Tamil Nadu State Film Award for his performance in ‘Ettupatti Rasa’.

He chose to be called ‘Napoleon’ after the French statesman. He has done over hundred films to date and is known for his versatility. He is also known to be overly selective when it comes to signing films. In 1998, he was awarded the ‘Kalaimamani’ and ‘M.G.R.’ awards. From 2000 to 2006, he was appointed as the Vice-President of the South Indian Film Artistes' Association. Moreover, in 2007, he was given the Murasoli Trust ‘Kalaignar’ award for his contribution to Tamil culture. Napoleon also has a strong presence in the political domain. Soon after college, on being inspired by the ideology of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, he became the personal assistant to his uncle, K. N. Nehru (the then Public Welfare Minister).

In 2001, he became an MLA by winning the state elections at the Villivakkam constituency but lost the seat to S. V. Shekhar in the 2006 elections. He became a Member of the Parliament in 2009 and further, the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment in the Union government.

However, after the expulsion of Azhagiri by DMK, he left the party to join BJP in 2014 and was appointed as the party’s state Vice-President in 2015. Napoleon is also the founder of Jeevan Technologies, which he established up in 2000, as well as the Jeevan IT Academy. While Jeevan Technologies has spread to the US and New Zealand, the academy was set up to encourage and enable graduates to step into the corporate world with the right training.
