Plot
The movie follows Alison Grant, who is a former figure skating champion. She teaches ice skating lessons to children at a local rink. However, she gets fired by her boss for not bringing in enough students. After leaving her rink job, Alison decides to start her skating lessons on a friend’s pond. Alison and her nieces hand out Christmas coupons for the new class to bring in students. On the first day, one of the girls who joined the lessons brings her uncle Ivan with her. Ivan Hall was Alison’s old high school sweetheart who left her years before he received an offer to play major league hockey. He is now a famous hockey player. Initially, the two are at odds with each other. Will they start over again? After the union, where will this relationship go? What will happen to Alison’s classes?
Star Performance:
The reunion of Alison and Ivan is heartwarming. Though it started cold, Alison warms up with Ivan after a few incidents and closeness.
Analysis:
The movie gets its name because Alison's nieces come up with an idea to make a "Christmas Coupon" offering a discount on her new figure skating classes. The film recycles an old storyline but injects a fresh Christmas spirit by adding considerate messages throughout the plot. There is also a message of serving others and the message of forgiveness.
