Vimal Venkatesan

Vimal Venkatesan or Vijay is a Tamil actor and a model that gets popularly associated with TV-serials. He was born on 12th November 1993 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He completed his graduation from Chennai and began his career as a model, appearing in various TV- ads. Vimal’s popularity sky-rocketed when he made his debut on Sun TV in a well-known television serial, ‘Ganga,' premiered in 2017 and directed by R. Ilavarsan.

This soap-opera takes inspiration from Indra Soundar Rajan’s novel and is a remake of a Telugu TV-serial ‘Sapta Matrika’. The story revolves around Ganga’s curse upon the unwed maidens of the village in season 1 and Shiva and Gowri’s after married life in season 2. Apart from featuring in both season 1 and 2 of Ganga, now Vimal Venkatesan is putting all his energy in doing the lead role with Madhumita for a famous TV serial- Priyadha Varam Vendum on Zee Tamil.

The story of Priyadha Varam Vendum revolves around the concept of reincarnation. Maadhevan (Vimal) is a prince who is in love with Amaravathy (Madhumita), a commoner. He wished to get married to her, but Mithrasenai (Maadhevan's cousin, who is also in love with him) kills both Maadhevan and Amaravathy. Hence, the show moves back and forth in time to connect various incidents of both past and present. On a personal note, Vimal likes to play music in his free time and is unmarried as of now.
