Vignesh Shivan

People say that everybody is talented, but most of the people never actually open up their package. But what if a person does not limit himself in one package? What if he has many packages to offer? Yes, you all heard that right. Vignesh Shivan is a very young lad to achieve such huge milestones that most of could have only dreamt about. Shivan is a film director, -but the list of his talent is endless. He is a versatile actor, songwriter, a music composer, and a scriptwriter as well. I know it is very hard to believe, but this multi-talented kid has taken it all, beginning with the love from his audition to an unquestionable pool of talent. Vignesh was born on 18 September 1985 in Tamil Nadu, Chennai. Vignesh was brought up as a child of two respected police officers of their town. His father is no more, but he served as a superintendent of police while his mother Meena Kumari, who recently retired, was working as an inspector in Vadapalni (a city near Tamil Nadu known for its film sets). Vignesh work is always based on the inspiration that he gathers from his parents. And in his recent movie where he is playing a role of a police offer, is a pure inspiration taken from them. Shivan completed his schooling from Santhome Hr Sec School, which is situated in Mylapore. Moreover, he was already in the company of another talented man as he was junior of Simbu (Silambarasan) in the same school. Vignesh Shivan, to begin his career, directed a very short film and from the beginning was very eager to work with talented people as he got Mr. Dharan to compose beautiful music for his film. In no time, he got him to show the film to the producers at the renowned Gemini Film Circuit. This film was a masterpiece as when Shivan showed it to his multi-talented childhood friend, Silambarasan, both the parties immediately agreed to convert this short film into a big blockbuster and thus, collaborated for the film titled Podaa Podi, which was released in the year 2012. However, the film had to struggle a lot, as the producers, a big banner, Shanaya Telefilms, started releasing a lot of posters and that too in June 2008 for the purpose -of promoting the film .Wheras, the other party that is Vignesh and Silambarasan were in Canada just for searching out for the best possible locations for shooting the movie Podaa Podi along with securing a deal with Mayor of town, Mr. Ron Stevens in Toronto and Orillia. As a result of these issues, the project had to stop due to productions reasons till it finally released in October 2012. After all this, Shivan continued to be a part of this industry by delighting us with his amazing lyrics as a lyricist and continuing with his passion for direction by filming for various music videos independently. Shivan not only restricted himself to lyrics and direction but is a prodigious actor as well. In his first film, Sivi, which released in 2007, he played the role of Krishna's friend. In 2012, he gave a guest appearance in Podaa Podi. In 2014, came his film, Velaiyilla Pattathari in which he played a character of Vignesh. In 2015, he became hot topic with his newly directed film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. This film was also written by him. Shivan is more successful as a lyricist; he has given the industry a lot of songs to groove. His most famous collection being in the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan which includes "Thangamey", "Naanum Rowdy Dhaan", "Yennai Maatrum Kadhale", "Kannaana Kanne" and "Varava Varava". This multi-talented star is still struggling to get that fame that he deserves; he needs blessings of his fans to be successful.
