. When he was sixteen years old, he became interested in the media industry. At first, tried to get a career in the film industry. Television series like Naam Irurvar Namakku Irurvar, and Eeramana Rojave were also directed by him. He was an assistant to the cinematographer Thirunavukarasu, aka Tirru, in the film Kaathala Kaathala. The Action thriller film Newtonin Moondram Vidhi was directed by Thai Selvam. He made a significant breakthrough with the horror thriller Kathu Karuppu, which was popular among kids from the 1990s. He particularly liked making science fiction and fantasy films for kids. On December 15, 2022, Thai Selvam passed away.
