Lenin M. Sivam is a filmmaker from Canada. He was born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka and then moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada for education in 1991. His father was a playwright and an actor in the budding Tamil film industry in Sri Lanka. Lenin M. Sivam writes and directs all of his movies. His first short film, A Few Good People, won the Best Short Film of the Year Award from the Independent Art Film Society in 2006. This award boosted his confidence and encouraged him to take on bigger riskier projects. Then, after several years of hard work in making short films, Sivam received international recognition for his feature film debut in 1999. It won awards at film festivals internationally.
Sivam's success continued with his next film, A Gun & A Ring released in the year 2013, which was both critically and commercially appreciated. Additionally, Lenin M. Sivam made its world premiere at the Shanghai International Film Festival in the year 2013 and was shortlisted for the Golden Goblet Award. Sivam's latest film, Roobha, is a drama film released in the year 2018. It managed to get into many top international film festivals.
