Shankar Dayal

Shankar Dayal is an Indian Screenwriter and Film Director. He was born on January 1, 1975, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He career as a film director began in the year 2008. His first film was titled to be as Arambam. The film was supposed to be the debut film of Adharvaa Murali. But due to financial problems faced by Pyramid Saimira, the film was called off.

Shankar Dayal was the dialogue writer of the hit film Deepavali in the year 2007. The film was written and directed by Ezhil. It was a Tamil romance film, and Jayam Ravi, Raghuvaran, Bhavana, Vijayakumar, Lal and Cochin Haneefa played the lead roles. The movie was released on February 9, 2007, and it was successful. It was produced by Thirupathi Brothers.

In the year 2011, Shankar Dayal started filming the film Saguni. He wrote and directed the film. It was produced by S R Prabhu. Karthi and Pranitha played the lead roles in the film. G.V. Prakash Kumar was the music director of the film. It was a Tamil political satire film. The genre of the film was action comedy drama. Roja, Santhanam, Nassar and Raadhika Sarathkumar played the supporting roles. The movie was released on June 22, 2012. The film was distributed by Studio Green and Vendhar movies. The film was dubbed into Hindi, and it was titled as Rowdy Leader. The film received both positive and negative reviews. The Telugu version of the movie was very successful at the box office, and it was named Shakuni. The soundtrack of the film was also successful and in 2011 the first look was released. The film was shot in Chennai and the Climax in Hyderabad. Delhi Ganesh, Anushka Shetty, and Andrea Jeremiah gave a cameo appearance in the film.

Shankar Dayal started working in his next film Veera Dheera Sooran in 2015. The lead roles of the film were played by Catherine Teresa and Vishnu. At first, the film was launched by Suseenthiran in October 2011, but then it was postponed. Then Suseenthiran decided that he would write the script and Shankar Dayal would direct the film. The shoot of the film Veera Dheera Sooran began in the year 2015. But soon after the film was shelved. Shankar Dayal became a professional after the film Saguni. Though he is not a big director, he is known for his film Saguni.

In 2024, Shankar Dayal directed Kuzhanthaigal Munnetra Sangam, featuring Yogi Babu and "Senthil" in prominent roles. While attending the press meet of the film on 19th December 2024, he suffered uneasiness and was rushed to the hospital. But he died on the way due to a heart attack.
