As a director, he shot an extensive shot in the movie ‘Loduku Pandi’ with 13 movie cameras and to shoot the sequence, he set up an expensive huge set with a total amount of Rs 20 lakh near Karnataka and Tamil Nadu border.

Kaaval was based on real incident of murders that happened in the city. The film was seen by many directors of the film industry and police officials who demanded a more serious title. It was after doing screenplay for Kaaval, Rajanish felt he would make the directorial debut with a film ‘Loduku Pandi’.

Director Rajanish, who shot to fame for his directorial debut with ‘Loduku Pandi’ had sketched the character of Karunas in the lead role because he felt the actor is a sincere and hardworking person, In this movie, the actor's comedy performance was well-received throughout the film.

The viewer was really in tears to find that the movie would have an emotional climax. The emotional climax moved the audience so much that director Rajanish felt it was actor Karunas way of wowing the audience. It was a total movie of Karunas who remains in 90 percent of the movie frame with his solo screen presence. The film could have been much better if other actors like Ilavarasu, Sendrayan, Manobala were given scope in the movie to act.

Well, as a film director he controlled a film's dramatic aspects in the movie ‘Loduku Pandi’ and visualized the screenplay (or script) and even guided the technical crew and actors in the fulfillment of that vision which is indeed a tough job. But we hope he would be more selective in the script and narration to keep the viewers’ more engrossed in the theatres.

Everyone who plays a part in the production of a film is important, but the film director is arguably the most vital member of the team and Rajanish had lived up to such expectation in Kollywood.
