Kamal Ghosh was a cinematographer and film director from India. He was born in 1910. He has worked predominantly in Tamil and Telugu cinema. K. Subramanyam helped Ghosh to enter the film industry. He began his career as an assistant cinematographer in Balayogini, a Tamil drama film released in the year 1936. Ghosh also worked as the cinematographer in charge of the Tamil-language Jupiter Pictures film Anandhi Penn in 1938, directed by R. Prakash. Kamal Ghosh was an excellent photographer and his photographs were widely praised and appreciated.
Kamal Ghosh also worked as a director on three films in the 1950s, namely Paropakaram and Rohini in the year 1959 and Manorama, which was a huge commercial success. While working as a director, Kamal Ghosh, received appreciation and achieved success. However, he chose to continue his work as a cinematographer. We lost this gem in the year 1983 when Kamal Ghosh was affected by glaucoma, an eye disease.
