Raju Sundaram is an Indian choreographer, actor, and director. Raju was born on 7th March 1968. His father Mugur Sundar is a prominent choreographer. Raju is the eldest among the three brothers; all the three brothers are choreographers. One is the famous Prabhu Deva and other is Nagendra Prasad.

He is married and his wife name is Vasanthi. In his youth he was forcefully taken to film sets by his father to assist him. Raju invented interest in films and choreography after that. Raju started his career being a dancer in films like ‘ Roja’, ‘ Aasai’ and playing cameo appearances in songs with his brother Prabhu Deva in the films ‘ Gentleman’, ‘ Kadhalan’.

Then he went on to do a few Kannada films as a lead choreographer. Then he got the opportunity to choreograph three songs of Mani Ratnam’s film ‘Thiruda Thiruda’ (1993). Raju’s personal favorite works include all the films with director Shankar, Mani Ratnam and the album on Amitabh Bachchan, Aby Baby (1996). Raju has acted in the films like ‘ Jeans’ (1998), ‘I Love You Da’ (2002), ‘Quick Gun Murugan’ (2009) and he has also directed a film named ‘Aegan’ (2008).

Robert has an elder sister Alphonsa who mostly is a B-grade heroine appearing in item numbers. Alphonsa and her then boyfriend Vinod Kumar had an argument leading to suicide on his part. Alphonsa too tried committing suicide but was then recovered. The family of the deceased filed a case against Robert’s family alleging it was a set-up.In 2014, Robert and actress Vanitha Vijayakumar, who is the daughter of veteran actor Vijayakumar announced that they were to get engaged.
