The choreographer Mugur Sundar is also known as dance master Sundaram or Sundaram Master in film circle. Master Sundaram has been the choreographer right from MGR- Shivaji time. He was born in Mysore in a village named Mugur. Besides Prabhu Deva, he has two other sons
and . He directed his first Kannada film in 2001 titled as ‘Manasella Neene,' which was a remake of Telugu film ‘Manasanthaa Nuvve.' He directed this film as a launch pad for his son Nagendra Prasad, who had played a lead hero in this movie.
Dance master Sundaram won National Film Award for Best Choreography for his work in film ‘Thiruda Thiruda’ (1994). Also, he is also the recipient of Vijay Award for contribution to cinema in 2011. In 1999, he was also honored with Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award for his meaningful contribution to South Indian cinema.
