They are creative and at the same time, have a great amount of technical knowledge. The Steadicam allows the operators to reach difficult areas and stably capture/shoot the instances by consistent movements.
The steadicam was a revolution in the Photography Department of filmmaking. Managing the entire steadicam system, which is very heavy, and balancing the camera on it, is a tough job and requires a good eye, a creative mind, and a strong body. They generally work with the Director and the Director of Photography and also remain in touch with the first assistant camera for a consistent and constant focus. A lot of coordination is required between these operators and the crew including the actors. They tune their steadicam's themselves and are very accurate with the tasks that they perform.
