Script Supervisor’s Reports The Daily Work
The script supervisor’s main task is to create reports on a daily basis about almost everything that happens during the shoot of a film. At the shoot the script supervisor primarily monitors the continuity- coordinating the camera, shot, make-up, sound and lights in such a way that the continuity is not lost. The location, exact time (start and stop), duration, shot numbers (along with the retakes) are recorded.
A log is maintained for the position of actors and the focus on the actor, the number of cameras (with individual notes for each) and their type, the screen directives, and the coverage. The screen supervisor also takes charge of the axis and eyeliners off screen. Daily logs for the producer and editor needs to be generated to submit the record of the continuity records to the respective teams; however the reports depend on the production house and the studio.
