Prarthana Goswami is a highly talented woman. She is a scriptwriter and a film director in the Indian film industry. She hails from Assam and is fluent in hindi, english and assamese languages. Prarthana studied at Delhi Public School, Numaligarh, Assam. At school she was very active in extracurriculars and readily participated in debate competitions, drama society and is western vocals. She received her high school education from the Army Public School, Tezpur, Assam. Her undeterring and impressive personality made her the head girl of the school at that time. Prarthana remained a consistent performer even after school. She joined the renowned Indraprastha College for Women in Delhi University for a BA in history honours. There she became the President of the music society of the college. In 2006, Prarthana took her first job and started working as an intern at WWF- India. She entered the entertainment industry in 2010 as an assistant director at the Reel Company. However it wasn't until 2011 that she started working as a scriptwriter. Her first venture into the field of scriptwriting was at Cinergy Pictures.
As the years rolled by, she switched to several other companies but maintained her stance in the industry. She worked for Nomad Productions, Yash Raj Films, PZNZ, and Kabir Khan Films Private Limited. Working for Kabir Khan Films proved to be highly fruitful for her career and she wrote the scripts for several renowned movies. She also worked at Bodhitree Multimedia Private Limited as a director. Prarthana has worked as a script supervisor for numerous films throughout her career. Some of the renowned ones include- Mausam (2011), Delhi In A Day (2011), Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl (2011), Bajrangi Bhaijaan Click to look into! >> Read More... (2015), Phantom (2015), The Forgotten Army (2020) and ‘83 (2021). She directed the short film The Wait in 2021 and the music video Heeriye in 2022. Her short film, The Wait is originally in Assamese and is based on a short story, The Vigil by Mita Nangia Goswami. For this film, Prarthna received the Best Director (jury) award at the 12th Baba Saheb Phalke Film Festival in 2022. Her film received the Best First- Time Short Film award in June 2021 at the Boden International Film Festival, Sweden. Besides all her achievements in the industry, Prarthna continues to contribute to society in whichever way she can. In her free time, she volunteers at Tezpur District Mahila Samiti for Disaster and Humanitarian Relief in her hometown, Assam.
