Aswathy Thomas is a versatile Malayalam serial actress from Palakkad, Kerala. She was largely brought up in Chennai and is currently living in Dubai with her husband Jerin and daughter Joana. Aswathy has a very special place in the heart of her audiences for beautifully portraying the role of the divine Alphonsa Amma in the popular serial by the name Vishuddha Alphonsa Amma. Her real name is Prescilla Jerin.

Aswathy’s career kick started with her participation in a dance show, ‘Thakadimi’ in Asianet television channel. Her performance and skills were highly appreciated. She soon bagged a role in a short serial, ‘Kanakuyil’. Aswathy got a break through the portrayal on divine Alphonsa Amma in the popular serial by the name Vishuddha Alphonsa Amma. Ashwathy is a strong follower of Alphonsa Amma considers this opportunity as a blessing from the Almighty. Aswathy was selected for this role after an audition program where more than 100 artists were interviewed. This serial focused on the healing powers of the saint.

Aswathy beautifully essayed a strong negative character as Amala in a mega serial Kumkumappoovu, telecasted by Asianet. The role of Amala helped Aswathy to display her versatility. Kumkumappoovu was the story of complex relationships. This serial was widely popular and Aswathy also received an award from Asianet for her performance. Aswathy and Jerin together did a music video named Poonnila Mazha Nanayum. Aswathy has tried her luck in films, through the movie oru nuna kadha.

Prasilla also called as Ashwathy Thomas or Prasilla Jerin debuted in television industry through the famous serial Alphonsamma in Asianet. The serial was based on the real life incident of the nun Alphonsa, who had to undergo many hardships in her life like physical illness, amnesia, concussions. Alphonsa Muttathupadathu a Christian nun was honored as Saint in 2008. Prasilla portrayed the character of Alphonsamma, the saint from Kerala. She gave life to the character and all the Malayalam viewers received her with full appreciation.

After that she featured in the Mega and ever hit serial Kumkumapoovu playing the character of Amala. Amala is the eldest daughter of Professor Jayanthi, the central character played by Asha Sharath. Amala is a selfish, arrogant and aggressive girl who is pampered since her childhood. With the entry of the central character Shalini in the serial her life turns upside down. Prasilla has Portrayed Amala very beautifully, and there was no one who could make it even better. Prasilla is originaly from Palakkad, Kerala, but settled in Dubai after her marriage to Jerin. The couple has a daughter named Annakutty.
