Kailas Nath

Kailasnath is an actor working predominantly in Malayalam television and film industry. He has also worked in Tamil industry. Some of the movies which he is famous for are Yugapurushan, Ethooruswapnam, Thamasomajyothirgamaya, and Oruthaliragam. Kailas was born in Mannar, Thirwada in Kerala. He completed his intermediate from Government High School from Mannar itself. He did his graduation from Devasam Board Pamba College also from Mannar. There he met Nazer, Shankar, Chiranjeevi, and Sreenath who became well-known actors later. He has even worked in the faculty for acting and directing at NIFT as well as Madras Christian College.

Currently residing in Thiruvananthapuram Kailas's family consists of his mother Gauri Antharjanam, his wife Ajitha and their daughter Dhanya. He debuted his career as an actor with the picture Sangamam. Directed by Suresh Krishna Sangamam is a romantic film that had hit the cinemas on 16th July 1999. He got to act in a children's movie titled Vidaruma Motlukal in which he did a lead role. Directed by P Subramanian it is a movie about a teacher who loves his students a lot. He played the role of a doctor in the film Sara Varsham. Directed by Sreekumaran Ethooruswapmam is one of his hit films in which he acted as Kochu Swami. The movie Oru Tali Ragam gave him a big break. He was featured in the picture as thumbu and the film was highly recognized and appreciated, gave him fame and popularity all over.

Kailash has acted in a total of 163 pictures out of which 90 are from the Tamil language. He has played the role of a comedian in most of his pictures. He has also worked with legendary actors; one among them is Rajnikanth in the movie Valli. It was released in 1993 it is a romantic drama where an uneducated boy falls in love with an educated girl. The film was not well received. One of his other appreciated movies is Palavanacholai. The various other pictures he has done are MizhikalSakshi, SethuramaIyer CBI, SeetaKalyanam and many more. Besides acting class, he has also worked as a director for the movie Ore Raktham and EthuNallathamasha. Apart from films Kailas has also shown his talent on the small screen and has done various serials like Malootty, Rathrikal, Purappaddu, Pranavam, and Seemantham. Seematham was his first serial.

 He had once suffered a heart attack on the sets of the TV serial Santhwanam in 2021. Kailas Nath died on 3 August 2023 in Kochi at 65. He was undergoing treatment for liver disease at Kochi Hospital for a long time.
