Thushar M K

Tushar Muraleekrishna, known as Tushar M. K., focused on music since his childhood days. He started learning classical music at the age of seven and was very find of it. He wanted to be in the music industry and be remembered as a musician, especially as a classical musician. He was very fortunate to get an opportunity to learn music from eminent musicians. Tushar composed music for Malayalam pop albums. Tushar has won many awards in his lifetime. He was a finalist in the National Light Music Competition organised by All India Radio. He was also the finalist in the Light Music Competition organised by All India Inter University, Ranchi. Tushar won first prize in South Zone Inter University light music competition, first prize in state level youth festivals in light music and classical music, first prize in light and classical music category in Kerala University, first prize in tech-a-break classic music competition held at Techno Park.

He received the award for second runner up for Asianet Idea Star singer reality show 2007. He was also a playback singing for a Tamil film “Pattalam” under the music direction of Jas. He has also doneCarnatic fusion programs with renowned musicians like “Chenda” maestro Padmas. Tushar completed his Master of Computer Application (M.C.A) in 2001 from College of Engineering Trivandrum and Bachelor of Science (B.S.C) from Mar Ivanios College (Autonomous) in 1997. He completed his Pre Degree-B.S.C from Bishop Moore College, Mavelikkara. He completed his schooling from St.Johns, Mattom. Tushar started his career as an I.T. Engineer. Then he worked up to join I.B.S. He then worked as a Carnatic Vocalist for seventeen years.

He conducted many classical concerts in almost all the temples of Kerala. Then he became a Carnatic Musician. Tushar’s father K. Muraleedharan, is a retired deputy chief engineer from the K.S.E.B, and his mother, K. Leela, is a retired high school teacher. His sister’s name is Aparna and his wife’s name is Renu. Both his sister and wife are working in a private firm as software engineers in Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. Tushar respects his family a lot, and got a lot of support from his family. His father played a vital role in nurturing his music career. His family members supported and encouraged him a lot when he resigned from his job to become a musician. He praises his wife a lot as she was the one who sent the application to Asianet and that was the turning point in his life.
