R S Prabhu is a film producer, writer ,and director known for his work in the Malayalam film industry. He was born on 5th May 1930 in Ernakulam. He started his career by working as a production manager in M.R. Vittal’s Raktha Bandham. He won the Vayalar Memorial Cultural award in 1997, the Kerala Critic Film award ,and the DadaSaheb Phalke Academy award. Between the period of 1965 and 1982, he wrote one movie, directed one, produced fifteen ,and acted in three.
He co-founded the Malayala Chalachitra Parishad. The Parishad represents the Malayalam Film Industry in Chennai. He is the current Vice-President of the Parishad.
